Re|shelter is a non-profit, charitable 501(c)3 corporation founded to address the urgent need for housing alternatives for people with environmental sensitivities.

Our vision: to transform the homes, health & lives of people with environmental intolerances through renovation grants and the construction of non-toxic housing and healing communities.

Our mission: Re|shelter is a charitable 501(c)3 organization committed to addressing the current housing crisis and high rates of homelessness and suicide within vulnerable populations affected by disabling environmental sensitivities. Our activities include fundraising, awarding housing aid grants, facilitating the design and construction of healthy homes and communities, and using the arts to promote awareness.


Our planned projects:

FUNDRAISING/GRANTS
Arts Education & Fundraising using the arts to raise awareness and funds
Fundraising/Grantwriting Effort raising funds so that we may bring our projects to fruition
Grant Programs awarding small Renovation Grants to create safe rooms within an existing home, apartment or trailer for eligible individuals and larger Housing Aid Grants to help eligible individuals purchase homes or trailers
Re|shelter Auction now accepting tax-deductible donations of safer goods and services

SAFER HOUSING SEARCH
MCSsafehomes.com providing a stand-alone website with up-to-date safer housing ads and resources
Re|shelter Underground Network (RUN) facilitating emergency housing placement for those in desperate situations through a global e-mail network

DESIGN/CONSTRUCTION
Trailer Prototypes collaborating with others to produce DIY trailer plans and material specifications

POLICY CHANGE
Scent Free Public Restrooms urging government agencies to institute updated indoor air quality policies for public restrooms on highways and in state and national campgrounds

OTHER
Volunteer Program working with volunteers to achieve our mission
